Description:The Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) will support the continuity of care for Perioperative patients. The scope of practice includes preoperative patient care management, intraoperative surgical first assisting and postoperative patient care management. The role will help expedite surgical productivity, support the education of surgical staff, 2ndassist where needed, and first assist the Surgeons as needed. The CRNFA is a Perioperative registered nurse who works in collaboration with the surgeon and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes; has acquired the necessary knowledge, judgment, and skills specific to the expanded role of the CRNFA clinical practice; intraoperatively practices at the direction of the surgeon; and does not concurrently function as the scrub person. The RNFA will provide patient care for all ages and provide leadership and direction to the Perioperative team where needed.
BSN required, MSN preferred
Arizona RN license
Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) ( within 6 months of hire)
RNFA certification from a program that meets the "AORN standards for RN First Assistant Programs and approved by the Arizona Board of Nursing
2 years of RNFA experience required; 3-5 years preferred
3 years Perioperative Nursing experience
BSN required, MSN preferred
